Volunteer Programs

NADAG has a list of programs for both NGOs and Individual Volunteers to engage in so as to aid the needy and disabled of targeted communities. These programs covers areas including; education, health, food, clothing, community support, information and the aged. Volunteers who wished to contribute are advised to inform the organization so that their parts to play can be well planned before their arrival to the community.
Take a moment and review these verse from the Bible Proverbs 19:17
Below are how we plan our programs;

EDUCATION
It's obvious, deprived communities lack access to better education due to numerous reasons.
NADAG wishes to build schools in some of these communities by the help of NGOs and Individual Volunteers through it's volunteer programs.
Volunteers who are willing to come and assist in the areas of education are welcome. Most of these communities lack educational facilities. Some of them even do not have a school at all and others who have one have no favorable conditions and educational materials for academic works. NADAG is calling on NGOs to help setup schools in some of these communities. Volunteers are also expected to assist in the areas of teaching English Language, Mathematics, ICT and Science in basic schools of targeted communities respectively. Donation of educational materials like; computers, storybooks, textbooks, notebooks, pens, pencils, sharpeners, erasers, rulers, crayons and toys are also warmly appreciated. Also, NADAG there are numerous needy but brilliant children in these communities and NADAG's goal is to find a support from Individual Volunteers and NGOs to enable these victims get educated for the betterment of their future.

HEALTH
Most communities in the rural areas lack health facilities which is one of the contributing factor to the child-death, maternal death and health issues. It's these problems that NADAG is fighting to solve and improve upon living standard of the communities involved. The call is NGOs to come and aid these communities by providing health facilities such as health centers and clinics.Volunteers on the other hand can help by educating the communities on health topics including, Malaria, Diarrhea, Child Nutrition, Hygiene and HIV AIDS. Volunteers can also help as nurses and doctors on special occasions.                                         Donation of health materials like; medicines, vaccines, mosquito nets and all related items are warmly welcomed.

FOOD AND CLOTHING
Food and clothing are the basic needs of mankind. Yet, there are people and children living in deprived communities who can hardly afford to cycle the day with good food and clothing. Most parents can't afford what it takes to feed their families and sort into engaging their children in hard labor that constitute child abuse.Malnutrition is another leading problem as a result of lack of good food and is increasing the death rate in the rural communities. Now, the innocent children suffers the most and that's why NADAG is calling onto concerned NGOs to come and aid these communities. We expect NGOs to assist provide food items and clothing to these deprived communities. Volunteers are welcomed by NADAG in provision of food items and clothing of all kinds provided useful to these underprivileged people.

TOURISM
NADAG is much more concerned about the happiness and comfort of it's volunteers. During the stay of volunteers in the communities, a visit to some of the places of scenery within Ghana is common. Places like the Kakum National Park, Boti Falls, Wli Waterfalls, Mountain Gemi, Aburi Botanical Gardens, University Botanical Gardens, Elimina Castle(Gate Of No Return), Volta Lake, Paga Crocodile Pond, Nzuleizu(Village On Water and Mountain Afadjato. Also, numerous cultural festivals all over the country will enlighten your cultural heritage before you return home after your volunteer visit. The people of Ghana are relatively recognized as the most hospital in Africa and so, your security and safety are rest assured. So NADAG includes tourism in it's program list to make the visit to the community much more fun for our volunteers. Giving them the chance to interrupt with the local people and have assent to their unique cultures.

ARRIVAL AND ACCOMMODATION OF VOLUNTEERS

ARRIVAL OF VOLUNTEERS
Before the arrival of any Volunteer, he/she must inform the organization on the date of arrival so that there shall be a NADAG official to welcome him/her at the airport. The first night of arrival shall be spent in Accra the capital city of Ghana. Then follows the journey to the community (Adidome) about 2 hours drive which covers about 180km. The first two days of arrival in the community shall be for orientation where the volunteer is briefed on the general lifestyle of the community. Greeting and visiting the elders of the community as a welcome package. Also, we shall get to the Police station of the community to assure the safety of the visiting volunteer.

ACCOMMODATION
NADAG has two main means of accommodating it's Volunteers. The first one being the family host where the volunteer stays with the officials of the organization. The other option is guest house rental which shall be according to the interest of the Volunteer involved. In Ghana, to be precise Adidome, it costs an individual about GH¢8.00 being about $5.00 on the average to cycle the day with a complete set of meals(Breakfast, Launch and Dinner). As in the interest of NADAG, we strongly recommend the family host accommodation which is far less expensive.
NADAG also wishes to one day have a Volunteer Bungalow to shelter it's charitable and caring Volunteers.
